Hertwich Engineering GmbH, a global leader in aluminum casting technologies, has been acquired by its management team through a buy-out from SMS group, completed on December 16, 2024. As an independent company, Hertwich plans to boost investments in innovation and capacity to drive progress in the aluminum industry.

• Included in the delivery: three batch homogenization furnaces, two cooling chambers, a billet saw, an ultrasonic testing station, and a packing station.
• The plant in Torija, Spain is set to produce 120,000 tons of low-carbon recycled aluminium annually. The products will be used for key European industries such as transport & automotive, building & construction, renewable energy installations, and consumer durable markets.
• Focus is on reducing energy consumption and optimizing heat treatment for various material qualities.
• A step cooling system and a bidirectional airflow system enable flexible and uniform heat treatment, increasing energy efficiency and reducing consumption.

Landeshauptmann Thomas Stelzer besuchte den Hersteller von Anlagen für Alu-Recycling und -Verarbeitung Hertwich Engineering in Weng. Das Unternehmen beliefert Aluminiumgießereien und Aluminiumumschmelzbetriebe sowie Autozulieferer und Autohersteller. Bei einem Presserundgang legte der Landeshauptmann dar, dass Innovation ein Schlüssel der Industrie in Oberösterreich sei und die EU Produktionsunterstützung für Betriebe ermöglichen solle.
